Personal Narrative Outline
Place:
I’m planning to write about Dance marathon at FSU. It was held this year in the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center here at Florida State, in a huge event room. With High ceilings, decorations made by the internal team, two stages on either side, a dance floor, and a captain’s room, and a private bathroom for internal team. It was dark walls, lit up with colors. A huge wall of CMN paper balloons, banners hanging representing each team. There was a person everywhere you turned, and turnstiles to go to and from the captain’s room to the main area.

Beginning of dance marathon: March 2, 2018 2pm-6am
-
Over 1000 students were there serving on internal and external, but I mostly spent time with my internal team, marathon events. Rachel, my chair who was tall and brunette and perfect; Beth, one of 4 coordinators, a sister of my sorority; Alexandria, long dark hair feisty and funny; Audrey, blonde and afraid of wigs. There were many people on my team that I worked with but ill get into their descriptions during the story. Haley was important though. She wasn’t on my team but she’s a sister and was a good friend to be with throughout the whole marathon.
-
I worked the marathon running events from twister, to family feud, silent disco, board games, a bouncy house. I watched my friends from my sorority dance and have fun. I listened to miracle stories, pushing me more every hour to keep going.
-
I saw people thrive and people struggle. I saw passion from myself and others. I heard the gong hit countless times, signifying the heartbeat of our marathon, with every $100 donated, comes another miracle on its way. I felt energized, tired all at once.

My Anxiety Attack March 3, 2018 6-10am
-
Same people, same place, with a few new faces. The paramedics in the medical care unit who took care of me, also told me to leave. My boyfriend who just happened to be getting me food at the same time I was experiencing the attack, and took me home.
-
I was told I could make it, I kept telling people I didn’t feel good, but I didn’t want to leave, I wanted to fight it because I thought I was actually going to get through it.
-
I all of sudden couldn’t take the noise, the people, or the area anymore. My body switched into flight mode as I entered the Medical care unit, sat down and bawled my eyes out. They told me to calm down but it was impossible.
-
I saw people having fun, but I was not having fun anymore. I heard the paramedics whispering to each other that my stats were not good. I felt like I was going to faint, I felt vulnerable, I felt disappointed.

I saw people crying, I cried, I had a mini panic attack from all the people but kept it to myself, I thought about how scared I was to be back here, I felt I had to redeem myself.
